NATIONAL AGENCY FOR RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION PROJECTS FINANCED BY THE „NKFI” FUND

Project title: Development of an intelligent traffic management system in strategic cooperation between BME, Gamax Kft. and RacioNet Zrt.

Contract number:2018-1.3.1-VKE-2018-00021
Grant amount (HUF):HUF 1 387 671 119
Total cost (HUF)HUF 2 312 239 116
Project period:Apr. 1, 2019 - March. 31, 2023

The consortium of Gamax Informatics and Manpower-Leasing Ltd., Budapest University of Technology and Economics and RacioNET IT Trading and Services Ltd. won a grant in 2018 under the Competitiveness and Excellence Cooperation Call for Proposals 2018-1.3.1-VKE.

The aim of the project entitled „Development of an intelligent traffic management system in strategic cooperation between BME, Gamax Kft. and RacioNet Zrt.” was to develop a traffic management system that can be adapted to any city and that is able to control traffic efficiently based on artificial intelligence, so that the traffic participants spend as little time as possible in traffic.

The City AI pilot system, handed over to the Municipality of Pécs on 31.03.2023, is able to monitor the city's traffic using sensors (traffic cameras, our own mobile application, inductive loops, real-time data from public transport). From the observed data, the AI module performs traffic analysis and then predicts traffic and provides intervention recommendations to the dispatcher. The dispatcher can use the recommendations to decide to change the traffic lights in the city immediately, making traffic flow more efficient, and send notifications to the public transport company's passenger information system and mobile app. The dispatcher can view the map of the city's overall conceptual situation with predictions based on historical data, traffic statistics from camera image analysis, current traffic congestions and the location of public transport vehicles.

The mobile application developed in the framework of the project will enable city residents to use a more efficient route planner, tailored to the needs of the city, supported by artificial intelligence and efficient intervention (traffic light control), instead of the usual route planning applications. The application is not only a great help for car drivers but also for public transport users, as it shows the current location, route, timetable and delay information of public transport in the city.

The development was financed with a grant of HUF 1 387 671 119.

Demand forecast of pharmaceutical products, forecast based on weather research, intelligent service platform methodologies

The duration of the tender:Jan 1, 2013 – Feb 28, 2015
Contribution by the Government of Hungary:HUF 178,749,995
Beneficiary:Gamax Informatics and Manpower-Leasing Ltd.
Tender ID:KMR_12-1-2012-0206.

The tender was completed at the end of Feb 2015. The purpose of the project was to prepare a weather-based demand forecast research methodology in the form of an IT platform, which is based on the input of current weather data and is able to forecast demand for medicines and health-improving products.

The purpose of the project was to prepare a weather-based demand forecast research methodology in the form of an IT platform, which is based on the input of current weather data and is able to forecast demand for medicines and health-improving products. With the special expert system, the manufacture, sourcing, distribution and consumer demand of pharmaceutical products can be forecast.

Apart from the forecast methodology, the examination of special trends was also part of the project, since they show how climate change can effect the activities of the pharmaceutical industry.
Analyses of climate change, aiming to forecast consumer demand, may help with the long-term, decade-long planning in the individual sectors.

The special analyses of the decision-support system, forecasts, primarily help actors in the pharmaceutical and health industries, but also provide useful information to other sectors as well. Information from the intelligent advisory system can be incorporated effectively into the business decision process.
By implementing this solution, there are now more industries that are able to take advantage of information from weather research and climate trends.

The project was completed with the help of the Government of Hungary, and with financing by the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund.
